Last week I debunked some myths about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
I wrote that hypnosis isn't dangerous because it is a self-hypnosis. Meaning, you can't be hypnotized against your will.
This is true.
BUT....(and this is a big but).
When we are in fight or flight, or otherwise disconnected from our own own selves (which is most people), we can get hypnotized without our conscious awareness.
Marketing experts know this, which is why their ads work. Religious leaders and sales people also use the same techniques, as do social media and the movie industry.
There are many different techniques to hypnotize ourselves and others. Hypnosis simply means focused awareness and once you know what it feels like to be in a hypnotic state, you can recognize when it's happening.
People who have practiced meditation or yoga and felt their states shifting, know what the hypnotic state feels like.
We are hyper suggestible in a hypnotic state, which is why it's such a great sales tool. In this state, we can re-program limiting beliefs and get information from the unified field.
Which makes it powerful.
What I've come to believe is this: When you know how to hypnotize yourself, you become almost impossible to manipulate.
This is important in a time when people around us use power over tactics instead of power with.
